Heritage preservation in Italy and China. Legal tools and institutions

The comparative study undertaken with the Chinese partner throughout the 3 years of the bilateral project gave evidence of many interesting different aspects regarding in particular the preservation of big heritage sites and cultural routes. The paper discuss them paying attention to the legal tools and institutional structures of the two countries, their respective conservation traditions and valorisation approaches and the recent developments in the field of heritage conservation taking in consideration the reform of the Italian Ministry of Culture of 2016.
