Thermal characterization of defects in carbon fibre reinforced plastics: Comparison of some inversion procedures
Conference Paper
Publication Date:
1995
abstract:
Carbon fiber reinforced plastics (CFRP) are considered as an attractive object for improving available and developing novel nondestructive testing (NDT) techniques. Being practically important material in aerospace, these composites provide rather vast field for academic research in applying inversion algorithms intended for estimating parameters of internal defects. Transient infrared (IR) thermography is increasingly used in such research. This paper contains results of cooperation between Tomsk Polytechnic University, Istituto per la Tecnica del Freddo and Office Nationale d'Etudes et des Recherches Aèrospatiales in developing and verifying some inversion algorithms which have been applied to thermal characterization of CFRP.
