Evaluation of Small Strain Stiffness by MPTs in Historical Sicily Areas

The cities of Augusta and Noto are two seismic areas located on the eastern zone of Sicily. The seismic microzonation is now being studied for these areas. An in situ and laboratory investigations program was carried out in order to determine the soil profile and the geotechnical characteristics for the sites under consideration, with special attention for the variation of shear modulus with depth.
