Morphological analysis of Nanoparticles Generated by SAS

Conference Paper
Publication Date:
1997
abstract:
In this study supercritical antisolvent precipitation has been used to produce nanoparticles of various compounds. Yttrium acetate and samarium acetate have been selected to describe the performance of this process and the morphologies observed. It is possible to obtain an accurate control of particles diameter. Indeed, we produce spherical particles down to about 80 nm with standard deviation down to about 40 nm. The morphology of precipitated largely depends on the liquid expansion level. At low expansion level we produced, foe example, large empty shells (balloons)with a mean diameter of some microns.
