abstract:
Diet and feeding habits of Striped seabream (L. mormyrus) were studied, in spring on the South-Western coast of Sicily. The specimens analized, caught with three fishing gear, present in their diet qualitative and quantitative differences. The species resulted euryphagous, and indeed revealed a typical "opportunist" behaviour. His diet consisted mainly of soft-bottom benthic invertebrates such as crustaceans, molluscs and polichaets. Diet composition changes with size and age.
