Synchysite-(Ce) della val Suella (Sondrio) - breve nota

abstract:
Synchysite-(Ce) was identified at the occurrence site of bazzite in Val Suella (Torre Santa Maria, Sondrio province, Lombardy, Italy). The mineral forms cir- cular and flat aggregates of thin lamel- lae. The color is pearly white and the di- ameter of the aggregates is around 0.2 mm. Associated minerals are anatase, altered pyrite and a mineral belonging to the chlorite group. Synchysite-(Ce) was analyzed by means of an Energy Dispersive Spectrometer (EDS) coupled to a SEM. Val Suella is the first occur- rence of synchysite-(Ce) for the Sondrio province.
