abstract:
The Piona pegmatites, cropping out in the municipalities of Dorio and Colico (Lecco province, Lombardy, Italy), close to the Piona peninsula, have been fre- quently visited by mineral collectors since the middle of the past century. Systematic studies carried out by the Italian National Council of Researches led to the description of several mineral species mainly belonging to the phos- phate class. Here we are reporting the characteristics of the new species arro- jadite-(BaNa) and jahnsite-(MnMnFe) that, after karenwebberite, were dis- covered and described for the first time in these pegmatites.
