3D analysis for the prediction of the noise attenuation of a spark ignition engine filter box

abstract:
The paper reports the numerical and experimental activities related to the characterization of the gasdynamic and acoustic performances of the filter box of a four-cylinder spark ignition engine. Different simulation approaches are considered to fully characterize the component behaviour. The paper highlights how the employment of different simulation approaches can improve the overall performance of the air induction system
