Imaging crustal uplift, emersion and subsidence at the Vema fracture zone

The paper describes a transform-related topographic anomaly observed at the Vema Fracture Zone in the Atlantic at 11°N in the form of a transverse ridge. Multichannel seismic reflection surveys were used to image the morphology, thickness, and internal structure of the carbonate platform capping the crust of the transverse ridge. The Vema transverse ridge is actually an uplifted sliver of oceanic crust and about 3 my ago its summit was above sea level. -from Authors
