abstract:
This paper relies on the design and fabrication of CdSe/ZnS core/shell colloidal nanocrystals (NCs) cylindrical microcavities for microphotonics applications. The fabrication technology relies on the release of the strain in strained heterostructures, combined with technological processes to improve the hydrophilic properties of the inner surface of tubes thus allowing their efficient filling with a nanocrystals blend. The fabricated microtubes can be also suitable as microneedles for biological applications, as well as cylindrical pipelines for fluid transportation on the micro and nanoscale.
