Glycerophosphoinositols: Total Synthesis of the First Fluorescent Probe Derivative

The first fluorescent glycerophosphoinositol probe was synthesized in moderate good yield (37%). The total synthesis applied a convergent synthetic strategy involving two successive coupling reactions between the three key moieties: myo-inositol, glycerol, and NBD-aminohexanoic acid. © Georg Thieme Verlag.
