An EPR study on the binding of oxovanadium(IV) to nucleoside monophosphates. Evidence for the involvement of the purine moiety in the complexes of adenosine 5'-monophosphate.

Academic Article
Publication Date:
1994
abstract:
Binding of oxovanadium(IV) to ribonucleoside monophosphates, which involves initially the formation of VO(IV)-phosphate bonds and then the transfer of the metal ion to the deprotonated pair of 2'-3'-hydroxy groups, may also yield species which are stabilised by interaction of oxovanadium(IV) with phoshate and N(7) atom of the adenine moiety.
