Renormalization approach for the localization and transport properties of one dimensional aperiodic systems

The results we report here concern localization of eigenstates and transmission properties of two aperiodic model potential for one dimensional systems. in the first case we investigate the delocalization effects due to the insertion of local order on a globally pseudorandom system; in the second case we study the characteristics of an incommensurate Krönig-Penney model, and the behaviour of the system near the meta-insulator transition. The numerical techniques exploit joint use of renormalization approach and transfer matrix formalism.
