MV Line Plant simulation based sw environment

abstract:
The assembly department of MV line was characterized by a large number of operations and related different workposts (semi-automatic and fully automatic). The wide range of mosquito net products - both in terms of basic raw material and of framing systems - had a huge impact on production, given the fact that different products with different sequence of operations shared both equipment and resources. This resulted in a complex manufacturing plant, whose engineering and optimization requires the capability to assess the impact of single choices in advance. Starting from the Simio tool, the work focused on the development of a library of dedicated machines components and sw functionalities, capable of creating realistic simulation and identifying bottle necks, as well as on dedicated functionalities for data processing.
