Clinical Value and Prognostic Impact of Pericardial Involvement in Acute Myocarditis Data From the ITAMY

Acute myocarditis (AM) is often associated with pericardial involvement (PI). Previous studies showed that left ventricular (LV) ejection fraction (EF) and anteroseptal midwall late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) are strong prognostic independent predictors of long-term outcomes in AM.1,2 We aimed to define the clinical and incremental prognostic role of PI in patients with AM enrolled in the ITAMY (Italian Study in Myocarditis).
