abstract:
Inside the Roman domus and villas there were many precious objects, but the data available for the knowledge of the ways in which these goods were preserved are scarce. In this paper the literary and especially archaeological data vital in identifying spaces and furnishings for the conservation of precious goods will be examined. The documentation of the Vesuvian towns is particularly interesting for this topic.
