A Virtual Environment for Shoe Design, Engineering and Manufacturing

The shoe design is mainly done by hand and time consuming and prone error manipulation is needed to convert the style in a manufacturing process. An environment based on Virtual Reality techniques had been developed in order to help the shoe designer in his task and to provide a more efficient conversion into available CAD/CAM software. The paper presents the user interface, the environment and the results obtained in a project for a new generation of shoe design and manufacturing environment.
