abstract:
The plane wave scattering from a planar junction formed by electrically resistive and magnetically conductive half-screens is studied by means of the Uniform Asymptotic Physical Optics approach in the framework of the Uniform Geometrical Theory of Diffraction. The adopted approach takes advantage on previous results concerning isolated half-screens to determine the scattered field from the new composite structure. The reflection and transmission coefficients for parallel and perpendicular polarizations are obtained by using the boundary conditions in correspondence of the screens and subsequently employed to evaluate the equivalent radiating
sources under the Physical Optics approximation. The validation procedure employs comparisons with data resulting from a well known commercial software.
