The effect of Triton on electropolymerisation of phenol; an investigation of the adhesion of coatings using surface enhanced Raman scattering (SERS)
Academic Article
Publication Date:
1983
abstract:
The physical properties and adhesion of protective amine-mod&d prAyoxypbenylene coatings,
electroformed in siru onto metal substrates, have been found to be greatly improved by the addition of small
quantities of the surfaetant Triton to the dectrolyte. The role of T&on is investigated wing t and Raman
spectroscopic techniques. Triton is found to be present both at the metal substrate surface and dispersed
throughout the polymer, twoming cbemicaily bonded to the polymer after string in air.
