Remote Sensing of Landslide Motion with Emphasis on Satellite Multitemporal Interferometry Applications: An Overview
Capitolo di libro
Data di Pubblicazione:
2021
Abstract:
The purpose of this chapter is to illustrate the tremendous potential of MTI and explain what this remote sensing technique can deliver in terms of
detection and monitoring motion of landslides. This is done by considering different areas characterised by a wide range of geomorphic, climatic and vegetation conditions, and presenting selected case study examples of local to catchment scale MTI applications.
The ultimate goal is to show that by taking full advantage of the strengths of new space technologies, remote sensing can help improve our methods of slope hazard assessment and make landslide monitoring more effective and more affordable in more situations than in the past.
