Morphology and Crystallization in Polymers

Chapter
Publication Date:
1993
abstract:
This paper is an attempt to provide a simple introduction to polymer morphology and crystallisation. The essential and important aspects will be underlined by using selected examples. The paper starts with a preliminary survey on the characteristics of the solid state of polymer. The main morphological features of the spherulite organisation will be developed together with the factors that govern their nucleation and growth such as the crystallisation conditions, the molecular weight and the addition of a second component.
