abstract:
To determine and quantify characteristics of vascular bed through simple haemodynamic parameters measurement involves a considerable interest.
Models approximating cardiovascular dynamics can be useful for monitoring patients and evaluate their cardiac function.
Simple and linear models are not always useful to approximate some phenomena which have been put in evidence from analysis of pressure signals pin pointed in physiological conditions. What is presented here is an attempt to apply a non traditional method based on pressure transfer function analysis. Results show spectral analysis on pressure transfer function between arterial systemic and right atrial pressure performed for four anaesthetised sheep. They evidence a modal resonant behaviour in the frequency range 4-9 Hz. Finally a fitting of this data with a lumped parameter model is proposed.
