abstract:
The optical response of a Fabry-Perot cavity-polariton resonance in periodic stacks of hybrid (isotropic/anisotropic) multi-layers, with misaligned in-plane dielectric anisotropy, is computed by self-consistent theory in the effective mass approximation. Optical tailoring of this new class of resonant Bragg reflectors, where two different periodicities (1D-background dielectric modulation and in-plane C-axis orientation) are present, is computed by conserving photonic stop bands and strong radiation-matter coupling. The contribution of the present kind of hybrid metamaterials to the problem of stopping, storing and releasing optical impulses and to the model of 1D mesochiral crystals will be addressed numerically and the results briefly discussed.
