Studio diagnostico e analitico dell'affresco Annunciazione mediante tecniche non-invasive

The purpose of this study was to increase our knowledge of the colour palette and the techniques utilised by Fra Angelico in creating the Annunciation fresco in the Museum of San Marco in Florence. Since this is a fact-finding study, and not one connected with a conservational or restoration intervention, it was decided to make exclusive use of portable diagnostic and/or analytical, non-invasive techniques, i.e. ones that generally have no need of a direct contact with the surface in order to acquire data.
