abstract:
Digital applications and virtual reconstructions for cultural heritage are nowadays
widely diffused. In this paper it is particularly focussed their power for dissemi-
nation and empowering of the museum experience. Such a topic needs a two
faceted analysis: taking into account, on the one hand, the relevance of narra-
tive approach, that seems to be the most important factor to spread user's in-
terest; on the other, the effort of digital technologies, which may be useful em-
powering elements, but don't generally have relevant effects and long life if
developed without a specific communication strategy.
Museums data, seeming to confirm such a statement, are exposed together
with an overview of the available and developing devices, and of their future
perspectives as well.
