Abstract:
2,3-Dideoxy-3-C-methyl-D-manno-heptose (6) and 2,3-dideoxy-2,3-di-C-methyl-D-glycero-Dgalacto-
heptose (7) have been synthesized from 2,3-O-isopropylidene-D-glyceraldehyde (2), by taking
advantage of a jlexible synthetic strategy utilizing2 -(trimethylsilo_xy)jkra(nZ ) as four-carbon homoiogative
reagent.
