Protein content, glutencontent andSDS test were measured to obtain a preliminar evaluation of 87 accessions of Triticum dicoccon Schrank and T. spelta L. In comparison 3 vs od durum wheat were analysed. Both species showed a wide range of variabilityfor the investigated characters. T. spelta accessions were found to differ from T. dicoccon for gluten content and SDS test. Mean values of these parameters were higher for T. spelta than T. dicoccon accessions and wheat tests.
