Toxicity evaluation of 4-chloro-2-methylphenoxyacetic acid by microtox and comparison with FETAX
Academic Article
Publication Date:
1996
abstract:
The article compares the performances of Microtox - an in vitro testing system which uses bioluminescent bacteria to detect toxic substances in different substrates such as water, air, soils and sediments with Fetax (Frog Embryo Teratogenesis Assay in Xenopus). The aim is to assess whether with a well-known environmental pollutant such as 4-chloro-2-methylphenoxyacetic acid Fetax may perform as a reliable both toxicity and theratogenesis test.
