Influence of the growth pressure on the magnetic and structural properties of ultrathin Co/Au sputtered multilayers

Co/Au multilayers (tCo = 6 Å) with perpendicular anisotropy were obtained at different growth pressures. With increasing pressure a worsening of the multilayer structure was found together with a complex variation of the magnetic properties that can be accounted for by considering a bivalent role of interface quality in determining the magnetic anisotropy.
