In the transition between the Orientalising and the Archaic period, it's possible to find common traits among the ro- man funerary ideology and that of the neighbouring Veii. Aim of this paper is to analyse these characteristics and the informative potential intrinsic in the comparison between the ancient sources of the funerary ideology and the burials; so as to balance out, also partially, the absence of Etruscan ancient sources and to introduce new historical hypotheses.
