abstract:
In thermal steady state, it is possible to analyze the local heat flux through the surfaces of a building by detecting very accurately temperature differences between air and walls. Infrared thermography applied in proper way is able to detect very small temperature differences, and this can be used to evaluate the local energy performance of the building envelope. Innovative method to measure the thermal resistance based on quantitative thermal imaging is presented, tested and compared to standard technique based on thermal flux meter and builder provided data specs on a prefabricated wall under controlled boundary conditions.
