Aims:
Extension and optimization of code DUSTTRACK (DUST-TRACKing) [1,2] to address computationally the dynamics of test
dust particles in tokamaks
Motivations:
o Occurrence of Transient Impurity Events (TIEs) leading to intense radiation spikes in Joint European Torus (JET) has been
observed since installation of the ITER-Like Wall, after disruptions [3,4]
o Measured average radiated power (1.5 MW) could be explained by a number of radiating tungsten (W) ions associated to
full ablation of 100 mm-radius sphere of solid W dust [5]
o Development of dedicated modeling tools to study issue of dust production, mobilization and interaction with plasma
