Brassica carinata L.: germination analysis of cultivars exposed to increasing zinc concentrations

Conference Paper
Publication Date:
2005
abstract:
Among the agronomic herbaceous species belonged to the genus Brassica, Brassica carinata L. derives from inter-specific hybridization of Brassica nigra with B. oleracea. this species originates from ast Africa and yields2.5-3.0 t ha-1. the economic use of B. carinata is the production from the seedsof industrial oils with erucic acid concentration. Zinc is an essential element for plant nutrition but also a heavy metal. In this work 5 lines of B. carinata were evaluated in response to increasing Zn concentrations during germination.
