Web site on the binary theory of everything

abstract:
This web site is a collection of information and papers on the Binary Theory of Everything. This theory describes how a simple mechanism might have generated the complex structures of our Universe. According to the proposed model the Universe as a whole and all its structure are dissipative systems with an irreversible evolution resulting from two opposite irreversible trends related to the diffusion of electromagnetic energy and to the gravitational contraction of matter. Biological system might be produced by an auto-regulatory feedback loop between opposite autocatalitic activities of catabolic and anabolic types. This mechanism, named metabolic hypercycle, is described by the Lotka-Volterra prey-predator equation and gives rise to fractal spatial-temporal patterns and rhythms. Maps and clocks based on metabolic hypercycles might be used by living organisms to maintain their homodynamic equilibrium and biodiversity at different levels. The understanding of the dynamics of complex biological systems is very important to show the limits of the neo-Darwinian synthesis and to highlight the mechanisms of many physiological, evolutionary and ecological processes. The availability of a unitary theoretical framework for a rational interpretation of many physiological data may help the scientific community to develop effective treatments of unbalanced biological systems. In particular the understanding of the functioning of the neuroendocrineimmune network will leads to the development of integrated therapies of complex diseases as many metabolic, neuropsychiatric, and autoimmune disorders, which are still misunderstood.
