Quantitative analysis of human sleep using hypnographic descriptors

Methods used in quantitative studies of human sleep for the physical analysis of electroencephalographic data are described. These methods are based on the measuring of hypnographic descriptors, i.e. parameters which, when averaged over suitable epochs, provide curves which can be directly compared with the visual hypnogram
