After childless death of Violant Carròs, the county of Quirra passed to his nephew Guillem Ramon Carròs Centelles, a character a bit better known due to some documents found in the Archivo de la Corona de Aragon in Barcelona and in the Archivo General de Simancas (Valladolid): he had an abandoned bride, a wife and many children, some of them illegitimate, he lived mostly in Catalonia but occasionally came to Sardinia to protect his properties and to defend his domains; he was galleys' shipowner for the emperor Charles Vth with his brothers: in turn also engaged in the export of Sardinian grain to the major Catalan
