abstract:
Along with the affirmation of Christianity, religious pluralism, on Neoplatonic basis, became the ideological trenches of the pagan writers, as shown by various sources, starting with the Symmachus' famous Relatio III. The archaeological documentation from the domus of Rome offers a wide repertoire of gods and cults to which many representatives of the aristocratic élite seem still very interested. An analysis of this documentation, put in relation to contemporary literary and epigraphic sources, allows to identify significant aspects of persistence and coexistence of traditional cults in the Christian City
