Strumenti di supporto allo studio su Web: un'applicazione in Architettura

In this paper we present the design strategies and technological solutions adopted to improve the pedagogic efectiveness of the Web-based Instruction systenzs (WBI). We present the guidelines,followed in order to develop a WBlsystenz in the field of Architecture and Urban Planning; these guidelines can be generalized to WBI systems in different educational settings. Specifically, the design strategies allow overcoming two important limits of the Web in education:,from one hand, the impossibility for students to act on the content of the Webpages; in addition, the static ,feature of the hypertextual informative network, which cannot be modified by the students. The approach we have adopted is based on a WBI with an Open Hypermedia as the informative part of the system: students can add nodes and links interactively. Moreover, students can work with a set of tools in order to interact with the textual information on the pages. Finally, the system integrates communication and cooperation tools, as well as specific tools to support the study of the Architecturnl design.
