X-ray diffraction occurs when an electromagnetic wave of wavelength of the order of magnitude of 1 A ? interacts with an ordered array of
atoms like a molecular or ionic crystal.
A brief summary of the physical phenomena and its applications to polymer science is given together with the experimental setup required for the experiments.
