Le inclusioni ultramafiche dell'area di Pozzomaggiore.

The paper concerns chemical-mineralogical characterization studies and mineral processing tests aimed to verify the possibility to value alcalin basalts including peridotitic xenolithes that crop out in the area of Pozzomaggiore (North-West Sardinia). A careful mineralogical work, performed through XRF chemical analysis, diffractometric analysis and microprobe analysis, has highlighted that xenolithes are made of olivine, orto- and clinopyroxenes and less spinel. The quantification of mineralogical composition has been made through a "mass balance method" and a "modified mass balance method", using basic-programs written during the present work. Mineral treatment tests, carried out with crushing methods, size classification and magnetic separation, have pointed out the possibility to obtain a "basalt product" and a "olivine and pyroxenes concentrate" usable as abrasive material.
