The Tokens in Prehistoric Syria-Palestine: Some Problems of Method

It is therefore evident that the examination of the geometric objects above all cannot be separated from the analysis of the nature and function of the settlements which produced them and from the study of the specific contexts in which they were found (domestic, funerary, public etc), not to mention the necessity of recording funztional and morphological evolutions in the historical development of the communities which succeeded one another in the Near eastern region and which created and used tokens.
