abstract:
This essay deals with Teseida, XI, 22-24, where the trees cut for Arcita's pyre are listed. The first part
presents a linguistic study examining the passage from a lexicological point of view; the second part
proposes a study of Boccaccio's sources aiming at highlighting the connections between the Teseida and the
'Laurentian Thebaid' (that is, one of the copies of Statius' poem owned by Boccaccio = ms. Laur. Plut. 38
6).
