Attività di specie di Trichoderma nei confronti di Phaeomoniella chlamydospora, patogeno associato al mal dell'esca della vite

Conference Paper
Publication Date:
2002
abstract:
ACTIVITY OF TRICHODERMA SPECIES TOWARDS PHAEOMONIELLA CHLAMYDOSPORA, A PATHOGEN ASSOCIATED WITH ESCA ON GRAPEVINE A series of trials were carried out in order to assess the activity of Trichoderma spp. towards Phaeomoniella chlamydospora, pathogen involved in esca syndrome. In vitro trials showed the effectiveness of 22 strains of Trichoderma against the growth of the pathogen, some of them completely inhibited pathogen growth. Although the inoculation with P. chlamydospora produced a limited infection development, the application of T. longibrachiatum 6 on wound prevented the infection occurrence, black goo and necrosis. In the vineyards, a compound based on T. harzianum (Trichodex) was sprayed in mixture with pinolene, in order to increase the adhesion to the plant. The treatment was carried out at the end of pruning. The biocontrol agent was reisolated from woody samples collected from the treated vines, up to 3 months after the application.
