Transport properties and anisotropy measurements on [(BaCuO2)/(CaCuO2)] superconducting superlattices

Abstract:
Infinite layer based superlattices |(BaCuO2)m/(CaCuO2)] are a new kind of artificial superconductors with interesting properties both for fundamental comprehension purpose and for future possible applications. The artificial nature of these compounds offers the possibility of analyzing the influence of the structural properties on the superconducting behavior. For example we can study the correlation between the number of CuO, planes contained in the infinite layer block (CaCuO2) and the transport properties. In this paper, we present transport properties characterization of some thin films of this family containing different number of CuO2 planes. Such films have been grown by Pulsed Laser Deposition (PLD) technique. In order to investigate the influence of the number of CuO2 planes and of the distance between them on critical temperature, charge concentration and anisotropy, we perform measurements of resistivity, magnetoresistivity and Hall coefficient as function of temperature and applied magnetic field.
