Analysis of the Parail-Pogutse instability in the presence of lower hybrid and electron cyclotron waves

abstract:
It is shown that the injection of suitable amount of electron cyclotron power can stabilize the Parail-Pogutse instability driven by lower hybrid waves in the current drive regime. The computation is explicitly performed for the ordinary mode in perpendicular propagation.
