Gelrite plate technique for culturing Sulfolobus solfataricus, a thermoacidophilic archaebacterium

A rapid procedure for plating the thermo-acidophilic archaebacterium Sulfolobus solfataricus using Gerlite as a gelling agent is reported. The technique uses a clear, single layer in which the colonies are grown. © 1991 Science and Technology Letters.
