La ricerca nelle nanotecnologie in Piemonte: casi di enti pubblici e privati

Nanotechnologies and nanosciences are part of a highly interdisciplinary scientific-technological sector. They belong to the group of "Key Enabling Technologies" and are considered both a general purpose and a disruptive technological sector. The present paper describes the research activities realized by public and private researchers in Piedmont regarding nanotechnologies' field. The scientific works database obtained has been analysed after having realized a bibliometric research by means of an already tested reliable methodology. Consequently, different characteristics of the nanotech scientific production of the regional system of research have been studied: the numerical evolution of the number of works, scientific topic and themes, authors and institutions. Together with the public entities, the specific case of a private research institution of excellence has been presented as well as its nanotechnological activities: the Fiat Centre of research. The obtained results have been commented in the context of the regional system of innovation. At the end of the work comments are suggested and conclusions are presented.
