abstract:
The synthesis of metal-polymer nanocomposites was carried out by thermolysis of mercaptides. Merceptides are hydrophobhic compounds and are soluble with most techno-polymers and decompose at temperatures absolutely compatible with polymer thermal stability. Metal clusters appears in the molten polymers after thermal annealing at moderate temperatures. The polystyrene mixtures also reacts at room temperature generating polymer-embedded metal clusters after an adequate aging.
