SVN - Niger 1.0 - Suivi de la Végétation au Niger par NOAA/NDVI

The SVN/Niger software aims at providing an effective and user-friendly tool in order to contribute to strengthening the capacities for analysing the Sahelian environment and monitoring of the agro-pastoral cropping season of national services in the CILSS member countries (Permanent Interstate Committee for Drought Control in the Sahel) and other institutions working in the field of food security, territorial planning and natural resource management. The SVN software enables to optimise NOAA-AVHRR data, namely the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) developed by the AGRHYMET Regional Centre (ARC). This tool was developed thanks to the technical support of the Institute of Biometeorology of Italy based in Florence and with funding from the Italian Cooperation.
