abstract:
The use of modern technology applied to cultural heritage arises ever increasing interest with particular attention to data sensing, data acquisition, data base access and optimization. Image, video, audio, radar data locally acquired in museums, excavations, monuments can be distributed to remote locations, not easily and frequently visited, where data bases can be accessed. The collected data can be analysed in real time comparing them with the content of huge data bases even by colleagues in remote locations. The paper describes the main wireless technologies useful to provide very efficient and effective services in the field of cultural heritage.
